Remember when digital images used to look like this?

Now the standard is this:

Well not only does the stock market owe some serious thanks to NVIDIA, but so does every AI user. Their chips make this beauty possible.

Let’s take a quick dive into how NVIDIA went from pixilated ducks to America’s #1 stock.

Three cofounders started NVIDIA in 1993 because they believed that the proper direction for the next wave of computing was graphics-based computing. They believed GPUs could solve problems that general-purpose computing could not.

The launch of the company was initially unsuccessful. NVIDIA failed to meet manufacturing deadlines, and by 1997 the company was on the verge of bankruptcy.

But by the turn of the century, NVIDIA won a number of big-time contracts to build GPUs for large gaming companies.

As we’ve mentioned before, GPUs are the backbone of computers that allow data to be turned into video…. like video games!

In the following years, NVIDIA became the #1 chip producer for video game consoles. Consoles like the Playstation and Xbox run on NVIDIA GPUs.

These chips are so good that the industry knows them as “moat chips” because competitors can’t even get near their level.

Flashforward… 🧠 Enter AI.

The plot twist that few saw coming! Before AI was the town’s gossip, NVIDIA was already at the party. Mixing, mingling, and setting the floor on 🔥.

Turns out their GPU technology is also awesome at AI models. NVIDIA chips can process LLMs (the language behind AI tools) faster than any other chip on the market, by a long shot.

In recent years, NVIDIA has become the undisputed leader in AI chips.
