AI Won’t Take Your Job

If there was a lesson to learn from Covid, it’s that fear is a great motivator.

It’s so easy for our brains to jump to the worst-case scenario.

Some of us can be so consumed we would gladly give up our autonomy if it meant that nagging sense of impending doom would go away.

Catch us on a low day and the answer to

“Will robots replace us?”

is “I certainly hope so”. 🦾

AI Guy is here to tell you fear and AI don’t belong in the same sentence.

So let’s try this again: Will robots replace us?

The short answer: No. 💪+ 🦾 = 💓

The long answer? Let's do a little case study of what’s already happening today: Walmart Embraces AI 🛒

While a lot of different things are associated with Walmart…

…big and practical are two that are definitely on the list.

That’s where AI comes in, too.

Generative AI will power Walmart’s new employee ‘Super App’. (Sorry we can’t be more specific on which AI, but Walmart is: 🤐)

50,000 corporate employees will have access to the AI tool trained on Walmart's internal data.

Instead of replacing jobs, this app aids employees, making repetitive and mundane tasks more streamlined. Such as:

Inventory management, price setting, and customer inquiries, which become 10 easier and more efficient with AI, something that benefits both the employee and the customer.

This is not the first time Walmart has embraced new technology.

Starting in 2021, Walmart gave over 740k+ smartphones for in-store employees to access its internal app to check schedules, clock in, communicate with one another, and locate merchandise.

Sometimes our brains lie to us, making it seem like AI is inherently out to get us.

AI Tools in Unison

It doesn’t have desires or aspirations.

Rather, AI is a tool. 🔨

With automation, AI allows us to redirect our energy towards creativity, innovation, and areas that machines can't touch: empathy, human connection, and nuanced understanding.

As the line between tech and daily tasks becomes more intertwined, AI is a welcomed partner on this journey.

Stay informed, stay positive, and remember: AI is here to help, not hinder. 🚀
