The Grammys allows songs written by AI to win awards 🎸

The Grammys have recently made a noteworthy update to their rules, now allowing music created with the help of AI to be considered for awards.

The Recording Academy, responsible for overseeing the Grammys, has decided that while songs partially generated by AI can be taken into account, only the portions created by humans will be eligible for recognition.

Recording Academy CEO and President, Harvey Mason Jr., clarified that if a song is written by AI but performed by a human, it can be considered for nomination in the performance categories, but it would not be eligible for a songwriting award. The key factor is the degree of human contribution.

AI has been gaining prominence in the entertainment world, with notable instances like the AI-created opening credits sequence in the Marvel series "Secret Invasion," featuring Samuel L. Jackson.

Even legendary musician Paul McCartney recently revealed that modern technology enabled him to transform a decades-old recording by John Lennon into a never-before-heard Beatles record.
