AI Discovers Ancient Antibiotics
In a breakthrough that could revolutionize the fight against antibiotic resistance, scientists have used AI to resurrect antibiotic peptides from ancient humans.
The research team, led by scientists from McMaster University and MIT, used AI to analyze the genomes of Neanderthals and Denisovans, our closest hominid relatives. They found that these ancient humans produced a variety of antibiotic peptides, which are short chains of amino acids that can kill bacteria.
The researchers then tested the antibiotic peptides in the lab and found that they were effective against a variety of drug-resistant bacteria.

This study is the first to show that extinct organisms can be a source of new antibiotics.
It also demonstrates the power of AI to identify potential new drugs from previously unexplored sources.
The researchers say that their findings could lead to the development of new treatments for antibiotic-resistant infections, such as MRSA (antibiotic-resistant staph) and Acinetobacter baumannii (hospital superbug), which are major causes of death worldwide.
It shows that we can use AI to find new antibiotics from unexpected sources”
Google’s RT-2: A Step Closer to
IRobot
Google boasts that its RT-2: Vision-Language-Action models “transforms web knowledge into robotic control”.
Robots are getting smarter, and Google's new AI model may take things to the next level.
RT-2 is a vision-language-action model that can learn from the web and perform tasks that require semantic reasoning.
This means that RT-2 can understand and follow your instructions, like if you told it to “pick up all the clothes off the ground” it would understand you and complete it.
We’re not gonna lie, the demo videos are pretty intriguing (scroll towards the bottom). Ultimately, RT-2 should learn from experiences and improve performance over time.
RT-2 tackled the basics first
So what does this mean for the future of robotics? Well, it means that robots are about to get a lot more helpful. Robots could be our assistants, friends, and even our partners.
All of this sounds great in theory, but that would have to start with high-quality knowledge in the first place.
They’ve got some ways to go before robots are as loveable and effective as R2-D2.

Deep Dream Generator ( Image Generator)
Deep Dream Generator is a completely free tool that uses artificial intelligence to create psychedelic images. It uses a technique called "neural style transfer" to create the images.
Neural style transfer is a process that takes two images and combines them to create a new image that has the style of one image and the content of the other image.
Have a look at some examples:

Tweet of the day 🐥
Today, we announced 𝗥𝗧-𝟮: a first of its kind vision-language-action model to control robots. 🤖
It learns from both web and robotics data and translates this knowledge into generalised instructions.
